Weather is not loading
Confirm that the device has an internet connection, then pull down to refresh. Weather Snapshot uses Apple WeatherKit and may occasionally be unavailable.

Find quick answers, troubleshoot weather and location issues, or report a problem.
Location is unavailable
Open iPhone Settings, choose Privacy & Security, then Location Services and Weather Snapshot. Select While Using the App. You can also search for a city or place a pin without sharing device location.
Weather alerts and notifications
The Alerts tab shows active warnings supplied by WeatherKit. Local notifications can be created when an alert is fetched while the app is running; the app does not continuously monitor weather in the background.
On-device summaries
Compatible devices may show summaries created with Apple Intelligence. They are generated on the device from WeatherKit data and never replace the underlying forecast or official warning.
Saved places and units
Use the map button to search, place a pin, or save a location. Temperature, wind-speed, pressure, appearance and app-icon options are available from Settings.
Planning to sail?
Weather Snapshot provides general weather context. It is not a marine forecast, navigation system or source of safety advice. Always consult official marine forecasts and notices before departure.
